OCHO N MMXX

It’s now Sunday, quite late and I have been up now since the Wi (aka WEE, pronounced ‘we’ (Fr ‘oui’)).

Once again cause to celebrate ... another weekend and the new work week is just ahead.

YOU ARE ALWAYS FINDING SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE. WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?

Well, Sinnie from Cincinnati, it’s fairly easy. Some bullet points to ALWAYS remember, to remain HAPPY …

Find SOMETHING to celebrate and drag yourself out of the doldrums for crying out loud OR whining.

Be POSITIVE.

Emma checked in from the Prairie aka the American outback. Very happy to report her battle with the chinavirus or the dos equii virus, has nearly run its due course. NOT completely mind you but getting closer and almost there.

I have been binge watching The Rebel here of late.

THAT OLD TV SHOW FROM THE 60’S?

Yes. It ran two (2) seasons 1959 and 60 actually. We used to watch it as little people and now I am TOTALLY IMPRESSED with its brilliance. I have done some additional due diligence and learned the show was critically ACCLAIMED at the time and after 76 (!!) episodes was CANCELLED because some newspaper in NYC took a ‘survey’ at a ‘clinic’ of juvenile delinquents and arrived at the conclusion that the program ‘incited violence’ among the young inmates. It was one of their favorite and MOST WATCHED programs and naturally the ‘experts’ drew the only natural conclusion, pressure abc and the show was subsequently canned. It amputated the career of star and co-creator Nick Adams which is another sad and shady story.

Remarkable episode last night flagged for rewatching. Johnny was in a position and placed to assassinate General Grant when he was meeting with General Lee. This revealed in a ‘flashback’. He was set to pull the trigger but did not which is why I need to watch again. Interesting factoid, the part of General Philip Sheridan is played by the other series co-creator Andrew Fenady. Grant and Lee characters were each well cast, plausible and truly believable.

Historically accurate and being filmed in the black & white is stunning in its authenticity. I mean you can almost smell the horses, the dust and sweat on the characters. The stories and episodes are short and meaningful and even applicable today. There seems to be a lack of the mindless drivel as has become the dietary standard gone forward.

In addition to being a rebel, I did not realize the first time that Johnny Yuma was aspiring to be a writer and was keeping a journal of his travels. This also adds to the appeal for he is chronicling his experiences.

The half-hour program without the annoying commercials runs 20-25 minutes but now you can see the breaks.

What else might be of interest … ?

I went to the range more to see Rick and set up assistance to use his truck to rent the stump grinder from Home Depot to the cloud. The Chinese pistache is chopped up ready to burn and now the final stage and phase for the Fall is set for Tuesday.

HOW DID YOU STRIKE YOUR BALLS?

????

STOP IT. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. GUTTER MIND.

Sometimes I can’t resist and my mind wanders.

Pretty good actually. Or I was slightly surprised. I tuned up before using the door gym for the muscle memory and it really helped. The last ball I hit really stunk and it made me laugh. There was a pesky mosquito harassing me and I slapped at him a few times missing every time so yes, you COULD say I was distracted.

I did some painting, some carving projects all progress but no completions.

Taking a flier aka red-eye to Houston this week or next.

There are new neighbors and it is going to be a learning curve. The little girl Grace is a screamer. Very very loud, whining and crying. Clearly some getting used to is on order.

I am knodding out.

Out.
